The county of Suffolk is a predominantly rural county located in the East of England. With a wealth of history, Suffolk borders Norfolk to the north, Cambridgeshire to the west and Essex to the south. The county town in Suffolk is Ipswich but other large towns of note include Bury St Edmunds, the port town of Felixstowe, and the centre of the UK racing community at Newmarket.
Suffolk consists of seven key districts from Suffolk Coastal in the east to Forest Heath in the west. The rural signifcance of Suffolk is displayed every May when the Suffolk Show (hosted in Ipswich) showcases the areas rural and mainly agricultural heritage at one of the largest shows of its type in East Anglia. The other notable attraction in Suffolk is Newmarket and its long history and prominence across the UK horse racing fraternity. Located just 35 minutes from Stansted Airport, Newmarket races are a popular traveller location throughout the year.
